I had not found time to work in Annika's book until this weekend. Unfortunately we had a tragedy at our school on friday where one of our students, a 17 year old boy died of heart failure. He was playing rugby at the annual NECIS tournament when it happened (he had not been tackled). Anyway, maybe too much information for you all, but Annika's book was a perfect place to put my thoughts. I really look forward to continuing the exchange next year and so enjoy making art in everybody's book and seeing everybody's artistic abilities! Have a great summer.

This is really beautiful, Jeane. I especially like your text: the poignant synopsis of a life. . . . I'm so sorry for you & your community. We lost a gr11 student to a skiing accident this year, and a grade 7 student last year. It's terrible. The sudden death of a young person is heart-breaking. I hope that the friends and family of Stephane are able to support and comfort each other. Take Care, Angela
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela for your thoughts. Luckily this type of thing doesn't happen very often, although it appears your school has experienced some rough times as well. I did not teach today, but can imagine the rest of the school year will be a different sort of one. Jeane
